my illustration spread in 3×3 magazine in magma book shop
I was proud to find the issue of 3 x 3 Magazine that I am featured in amongst the likes of Le Gun and Varoom magazine in Magma Book Shop in Covent Garden. Seeing as I haven’t put any photos on my blog of my spread in 3 x 3, here are a few pics from the book shop, which by the way is a fantastic bookshop, as us illustrators know, it is usually quite hard to find contemporary illustration magazines and journals in bulk all in one place, but Magma has it all!

when did having a cup of tea become so difficult?
Self promotional editorial piece – May 2011
‘When did it become so difficult to have a cup of tea’ – Following my recent environmental, social and scientific editorial illustrations, this self promotinal piece is in response to a lifestyle article that speaks of the recent array of herbal, organic, chai, soul-enlightening, detoxing, boosting, mood-lifting, soothing, passionate, sensual, ever-describing teas that are so descriptive that the task of choosing a mere cup of tea seems like a major life-changing decision.
the happiness agenda
Self promotional editorial piece – May 2011
‘The Happiness Agenda’ – An article that questions the obsession with happiness in contemporary culture, how an idealised vision of happiness can make people feel that they are missing something in their lives and the constant striving for ‘happiness’ can indeed lead to depression. Making us rethink our values and not concentrate so much on creating perfection.
introducing beast collective
For a few weeks turned to months now, I have been focusing a percentage of my time on creating a platform in which fellow illustrators and myself can get together as a unit to not only promote our skills and knowledge as a group, but in order to create an environment for experimentation, ideas and exciting new ventures. I invited some friendly talented individuals to join me to form a diverse group, showing a range of techniques, interests and intentions throughout their bodies of work. These illustrators, or as some may prefer, designers, or even artists are Hannah Davies, Tamara Dellutri, Megan Evans, Fishboy, Sophia Shaw, Tess Taylor and myself, and … trying not to sound too much like an introduction to superhero comic … together we form Beast Collective.
